MY BOOK HAS FUNNY EYES
on this class we made 2 books (a5 and a4) with japanese binding style which is sewed. the a5 book is going to be used as our study journal and the a4 one is the visual diary. i use velvet fabric because i like the soft feeling of it and it looks classy. for the threads i use leather-like thread becasue the material is strong and secure. perfect for thick book.
first of all, let me tell you something. i lost all the process photos i dont know why. my phone must've been glitched or something. it really pisses me off. i'm sorry i this is all the pictures that i have.
if you want to make one, these are the instructions:
first you take a measurer and measure the card box or duplex as the size that you want. then make a 2 strips for the binding part and you cut it. remember, BE CAREFUL!
second, you might want to choose the right fabric for the book cover. not to thin, not to thick. after you chose the fabric you spray your duplex with a spray mount and then stick it to the fabric.
third, you cut the fabric and the end of it you glue the end pieces to the duplex (like wrapping a gift basically) basically just wrap it all up. after that you make holes for the threads.
next, you stack the papers between the 2 covers (dont forget to make the holes too)
lastly, sew it with a strong thread. after you sew it dont forget to secure the end of it so it wont loose.
