STAND UP FOR BULLYING AND MENTAL ILLNESS
on this week (i forgot on what week we did this task. soz) Ms. Uma gave us an assignment to do and its a group project (i was paired with Maddy), the procjet is we have to make an art installation based on the stuff that we have to bring to the class and make a font out of it, our original font. the week before we start doing the project, Ms. Uma told us to bring objects at least 3 things to the class, then we put all the things that we bought from home on the table in front of the class.
after that, we have to pick 2 things that caught our eyes. me and maddy picked her skeleton pen and my baby bottle. after discussing what are we going to make based on these 2 things, we were thinking that we're going to make an installation about Stand Up For Bullying. because the skeleton represent equality, death, fragile, and sadness, whilst the baby bottle represent the children who suffer with bullying.
(that is our mood board for the project) and this is me making font #1 for the quotes, the font is called Bob The Skeleton #1 (and maddy's is BTH #2 for shortened) lol
here's the pictures:
i use pink and purple color to represent the "feminin" side, becasue we use Wednesday Addams and Emily The Strange as our muse (obv bcs they're 'strange','quirky' and 'different'. tend to be bully victim) and then i outline it with black marker.
if you want to know, this is what i use, the colours are:
- Pencil
- Pink (for the bones) koi
- Rose Pink (for the inside parts) koi
- Salmon Pink (for highlights or shadow parts) koi
and a regular back marker (outlines)
mooooving on, after we did the alphabets we make the installation. we use a 40x60 mirror, a fake rose that we paint in black, and a plastick to cover the mirror (a la enchanted rose from beauty and the beast. hehe)
for this assignment and our grade's sake :( we came to campus on our day off which is wednesday. that's ok tho it was worth it. lol
the little thing on the top (the white one) is the plastick cover prototype that Pak Rahmat suggest us.
we want to make the plastick to be rounded like The Enchanted Rose one but it's imposible because of the plastick's fabric type. it'll be ruined if we fold it in rounded shape.
and this is us putting up our art work, with Pak Rahmat's help. kudos to him lol.

quick review on this assigntment. we choose the quote "On The Inside We're All The Same" because we all are basically the same, the only thing that makes us different is our looks, traits and charachters. so there's no use to bully each other or put some hate on people that had nothing to do with your life because they're different, you should pitty yourself because you're all the same. just be nice to everyone, because everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. you don't know they're background so becareful of what you do or what you say.
so the rose represent the bully victim and people who suffers mental illness because of it (or not). the mirror and the glass (we use plastick) represent the walls that they build to protect themselves and their comfort sone. the petals which we put some words on it, represents the nasty names that they usually hear about them from mean people.
